What’s going on, guys? Clark Bartram here today to go over an all-too-common topic men over 40 have to deal with when aging – a “midlife crisis.” Actually, like women who go through menopause, a man’s midlife crisis is known as andropause.
Andropause is the opposite of puberty where your hormones begin to decline. If not handled with care, this can end up rendering you half the man you used to be by the time you are in your 50’s.
What can happen a lot of the time is andropause being misdiagnosed as depression. Doctors will call it depression and put someone on some form of psycho medication that completely shuts down your hormone system.

Now, let me break down how to get through andropause:
3:23 Step #1 – Evaluate and Adjust Your Diet: This is the #1 thing that can help you get over andropause. Since the onset of andropause has everything to do with hormonal imbalances and your test levels being in decline, the all-natural approach to fixing it is through diet versus using things like drugs, creams, or injections.
I always say, “let your food be your medicine, and your medicine be your food.” Food is enjoyable, food is healing, and food can be good for you if you know what you’re eating. Red meat, for example, is something you can keep in your diet so long as it is high-quality, all-natural, and grass-fed instead of processed, genetically-modified options.
Healthy fats are your friend as well, seeing as they are needed in the production of test. And keep your nutrition in balance – eating soy can be estrogenic for you so to counter that make sure you eat to boost your test levels.
6:26 Step #2 – Exercise: This is the second easiest way for men to boost test levels, manage stress levels, and improve overall health. Now, don’t just hop on a treadmill for 30+ minutes at a time, because that will not be as effective for you as doing compound, multi-joint muscle movements.
These kinds of movements engage multiple, big muscle groups to work together and train most to the entire body instead of isolating every single muscle group.
9:28 Step #3 – Manage Your Stress: Now, this isn’t fighting, avoiding, or overcoming stress. Healthy management of stress does leaps and bounds more for you to help control your hormonal health to better fight andropause. This is because stress releases the hormone cortisol. Cortisol causes the body to hold on and keep unwanted, excess body fat and will be a detriment to your t-levels.
11:26 Step #4 – Get More Sleep: Sleep is vital to being able to manage stress, help improve your male hormone health, and absorb nutrients from good foods that you should be eating. There is something called a “circadian rhythm” that has to do with your body and how it sleeps. Things like stimulants, seasonal changes, and time zone change all affect this very important rhythm.
Long story short – if you’re tired, sleep. It’s really that simple because fighting your body’s urge to rest and relax can put a damper on your hormone health.
12:39 Step #5 – Don’t Mistake Andropause for Depression: Andropause is a natural process in life and you have to accept it. Now, the tips I gave you are all the ways you can start naturally helping yourself to make this process go by a lot more smoothly. It’s something that, no matter what, you will have to endure… How you decide to handle it and make things easier for yourself is up to you.
